LCD TV's on Factory Floors

The first question you may ask is why? Well with the affordability of new technology displays such as LCD and plasma televisions, it makes marketing or showcasing their products much easier.

One company in Texas needed two flat panel televisions positioned in a factory environment, they manufactured dairy produce, however the issue was that the factory floor was flooded at the end of every shift, so wall mounting an unprotected LCD television was not an option.

Due to the death of the CRT display, LCD and plasma displays are very common and the sales for this type of television is now outstripping demand. The problem with all flat panel displays is that they are designed and manufactured for home use only.

There were two main problems to address in the dairy, firstly the air bourn dust from the cattle and the second problem is protecting the display from water. So the solution provider offered a solution for the shop floor digital signage and the solution was for enclosing the LCD. This solved the problems provided the maximum protection from the hazards.

The solution provider of the LCD Enclosures went on to supply their sister company in Israel and several other sites throughout he world with the same solution. The solution included filters that filter out any air bourn particles of dust, these filters should be cleaned every 2 or three months for optimum efficiency.

The enclosure uses a positive pressure system that allows air to enter the enclosure through the filter and the dust is filtered out. When the customer started using LCD's in factory settings they realised the enclosures were perfect for the application.

As far as internal temperatures are concerned, these were taken care of by thermostats, one for the heater and one for the fan unit, so no matter if it was too hot or cold, the solution was there and the LCD enclosure has been rolled out at other plants related to the original company throughout the world.

With this just released 2010 Samsung, it's getting to the point that the only way they can improve the viewing experience is to offer "Smell-O-Vision" next.

After spending a week with this FANTASTIC television, I can only say that if you don't mind spending extra for a set that you can be happy with for years; a TV that won't make you wish you would have waited for the next and newest one down the line; a TV you will watch even if you've already seen the same ESPN Sports Highlights of the day three times, just to stare in awe at the unbelievable picture quality, then you'll want to own THIS one.

The blacks are the darkest I've seen on an LCD, the jutter and blur of fast-moving scenes, inherent in the LCD format, is pretty much a thing of the past with the 240hz and different motion settings.

It took about a half hour to calibrate the mode (I went for "Dynamic"), contrast, brightness, backlight, color and sharpness that was right for my eyes. After comparing and tweaking and tweaking and comparing different settings, I finally settled for the right combination that is now, to my eyes, the most brilliant and impressive home TV picture I have ever seen.

I spent the last 2 and a half years with a SONY 52 inch XBR5. Back then, it was between that and the equivalent Samsung 52 inch. The SONY's low glare screen and perhaps the name "SONY" made me opt for the Bravia. I was wishing I'd gone "Samsung" within about 10 months, when the SONY all of a sudden starting having some serious "issues" with its picture.

Fortunately, I bought the extended warranty. The techicians had discovered that all of the out of focus, double vision, lines of interference and sometimes even "all plaid" screen was a circuit board problem which would cost more to fix than the set (now nearly only two years old) was worth.

I was sent a check for the cost of a replacement, which was an XBR9, but also was now "only" 1800 dollars instead of thre 3500 I'd spent on the "5" two years earlier. Ouch!

My wife and I waited did more research for about 8 more months while the SONY problem kept getting worse and worse. Finally, we'd "had it" and put the warranty money toward the just out C8000 series from Samsung.

The LED backlight issues that Samsung was reportedly having are now a thing of the past with the 8000 series. I see perfection. I love this TV. If you're not afraid to spend the 3200 dollars for almost the best money can buy (the C9000, from what my salesman told me, is the same picture but with the "guts" of the TV in the base (wow!) and the screen a mere 1/3 of an inch thick. The 9000 remote also has a little TV in it if you have to take a bathroom break during the big game...you can "take it with you."

I figured the additional bells and whistles weren't worth the extra 2500 dollars I'd have to spend, so I went with the "second best" from Samsung.

I haven't tried the 3D mode yet. I need to buy glasses, but, honestly, I wasn't even aware it was 3D capable when I bought it.

The new brushed titanium thin frame is very cool, the shiny screen isn't that bad reflection-wise, and I do believe it makes the picture even clearer, and, I am just extremely happy with this set. It's the best. I can't imagine even "looking at another girl."

Samsung Vs Sony - Cutting Edge LED LCD TV Encounter

Though such technology comes with a very expensive price tag, LED LCD TV still stirs interest among television enthusiasts. Pioneer brands have emerged with their own models but two brands appeared to be more competitive - the Samsung A950 LED LCD and the Sony XBR8 Series.

Now a hot issue let us review how both LED LCD televisions lead the home viewing entertainment market into a whole new level.

LED LCD TVs are your usual Liquid Crystal Display television with the addition of the cutting-edge LED backlighting technology. and of course, new technologies mean quite a big introductory price. But Samsung wanted to attend to the needs of a greater market so the 81F Series of LED LCD TV was their first attempt to provide a mass-market model.

The manufacturer competition grew even hotter that Samsung released their A950 series while Sony created the XBR9 series of LCD LED TVs and LG introduced their LG 47LG90. LG and Samsung models sell at around $3000 for a 46 inch screen like the Samsung LN46A950 while 44 inch versions are priced at roughly $4000.

Sony chose not to join the price bracket of the two brands; their 46 inch KDL-46XBR8 sells at $5000 while the 55 inch version is at $2000 more. This makes the Sony models appear to be exceptionally expensive than LED LCD HDTVs from other brands.

However, they differ not only in price but also the LED backlighting technology used. Although all three uses hundred of LEDs positioned behind the screen, Sony uses a three-color LED set-up while LG and Samsung use white LEDs on their screens.

Sony's three-color LED system is coined as Sony Triluminous Technology which is powered by one blue LED and two green ones. Sony explains that such technology will improve color purity of images. This perhaps could be a reason for their more expensive price tag.

So which LED technology is better? Is it Samsung's white light LED backlight or the three-colored technology of Sony?

Since LCD LED TV technology is technically quite new, improvements wills still be made in the years to come. Not that this isn't the right time to buy a LED LCD TV; but if you will consider things carefully and manage to realize that your needs could be met in a less expensive model, you will see that it would be more rational to get a more affordable model.

But then again, it will all depend on your requirements of a good LED LCD HDTV. If Sony's Triluminous technology appears to you more, and if you have the budget for it, then go buy it. But if you are considering saving your $2000-3000 cash, opt to get the Samsung one and you will still get an exceptional LED LCD HDTV. After all, it is Samsung; you can be assured that you'll get what is best.
